Do you know the importance of the electrostatic screen in ultra-insulated transformers?
These are copper electrostatic screens placed between the primary and secondary windings and their importance is due to their dual function:

We reinforce the insulation between the primary and secondary by their connection to earth. In this way, if there is a leakage between the primary and secondary when this screen is placed between them, this leakage will be diverted to earth and the load will be protected.

The disturbances that may come from the mains are filtered:
– 1 screen: attenuation at 10 KHz of 65 dB.
– 3 screens: attenuation at 10 KHz of 80 dB.
