Importance of knowing how to evaluate the losses of a transformer and what it implies in our installation
The performance of a transformer is marked by two main types of losses: Losses in the magnetic or vacuum core and losses in the winding or on load. In case of having forced cooling or other devices, the auxiliary losses are added.

Sn Rated Power (KVA)
Po No load losses (W)
Pload Load losses (W)
Paux Auxiliary losses (W)

Evaluating the losses of a transformer, the most important ones, which affect the operating cost of the installation, are the no-load losses. It is important that these losses are reduced since they are fixed, regardless of whether the transformer is without load (no load) or at full load. These are the losses generated in the magnetic core and, in order to reduce these losses, POLYLUX works with high-quality magnetic sheets and power core constructions in STEP-LAP.
POLYLUX manufactures high performance transformers (ECO range), in which the quality of the magnetic sheet and the winding section is further improved, achieving higher performance > 98.5% in all transformers. And complyinh eith the EcoDesign ITER2 guideline of regulation (EU) Nº 548/2014 and the UNE-EN EcoDesign standard.
